On the sixtieth anniversary of its foundation, the Baath through the Resistance draws the path for liberation and unity.
Sixty years have gone since the sun of the Arab and socialist Baath rose eradicating the darkness of many centuries' underdevelopment, servility and division; sowing and flowering the seeds of the Arab unity and liberation from colonialism politically, economically and socially and establishing a socialist progressive society where reigns social equity, providing the necessary means to build the new Arab men and women and allowing them to use their immense energies and eradicating the culture of defeat and non confidence in oneself and entering a new era of the Arab nation.. whose most outstanding character was when the Arabs took back their leading civilization role and participated into the building of a new human society?
In 1947, the birth of the Arab and socialist Baath Party was officially announced, after many years of preparing and setting the grounds for the pan Arab-socialist principles, in a period when the Zionist aggression reached its climax in Palestine announcing the Zionist state helped by colonialists in the Arab countries.. Thus the Baath came as a historical riposte against these grave developments and most of all against the Zionist entity from one hand and from the other a historical and well thought answer to all the shortcomings which led to underdevelopment, division and weakness, which encouraged foreign forces to occupy the Arab homeland... The historical answer was to adopt the Arab unity as a unique possibility to rebuild the Arab force and allow the Arabs to play again their leading role in the world; socialism with national specifications as a economical and social system which holds within itself all the components to eradicate poverty, illiteracy, underdevelopment and class differentiations and discriminations under whatever unjust forms and the full freedom without which, no progress neither objectives can be reached. The Baath holy trinity which is, Unity, Freedom, and Socialism has summed up the historical solution for the Arab nation' crisis. This was the strong basis for a clear national strategy, putting an end to periods of troubles, hesitations, and amateurism in politics.
Based on these qualities which sealed the Baathist thought, the Baath, from the first day of its birth, was a historical Party. It never saw the light in contingent and circumstantial reasons. Rather it carried the nation' projects, its hopes and changed them from sentimental ambitions, to live and be motivated behind an eternal mission which can move millions in a well thought combat framework. The first Baath endeavor was to deepen, clarify then strengthen the culture of militancy against the western and Zionism colonialism and link it with socialism which takes into considerations the Nation characteristics. Now sixty years later, our Party must, in its own right, be proud that it achieved for the Arab nation in general and for Arab Iraq in particular, historical developments and achievements never seen since the Arab sun set down...
So what are the most important achievements made by the Baath in its liberated base, Iraq?
1 - After the 17-30th of July 1968 revolution, the first historical and vanguard step was to nationalize the oil of Iraq putting into practice a great national slogan the Arabs kept on dreaming about since the petrol discovery and the western control over its resources, which is (the Arab oil is for the Arabs). The nationalization has turned the oil from a mere revenue resource, paid by the monopolistic foreign firms to the Iraqi governments, into a material fundamental pushing force to utterly change the Iraqi society and transform it from an underdeveloped, poor and weak society, where the Iraqis are persecuted, and their creative capacities destroyed, to an advanced, strong and educated society providing them with a healthy environment to engage into the role played by their ancestors in the greatest civilizations established in the valley of the two rivers - Mesopotamia, the world ancient Center and its greatest might.
2 - Thanks to the national, global and precise planning according to the Baath theory, the Baath succeeded into eradicating the most important barrier for progress and creativity, i.e. poverty, under development, illiteracy and endemic diseases... Due to the mobilizing of the oil resources to serve the people, there was not a single poor in Iraq... There was not a single illiterate in amongst the age' categories of fifty years old Iraqis and downwards. Endemic diseases were uprooted. Medicines and education were free for every body from the cradle to the grave... Basic services were provided to every one such as water, electricity, transport, fuel, communications and transport, basic food products, home equipment such as fridges, and cookers were sold with symbolic prices. Further more the building renaissance, Iraq lived, has completely changed its face... These historical achievements unprecedented in Iraq and Arab history has transformed Iraq from an underdeveloped country where the poverty and illiteracy averaged 80 per cent of the population into a respected country and a great regional force which has re established hope to achieve the remaining great objectives such as the liberation of Palestine and achieve the Arab unity.
3 - The oil resources were never mere riches able to build structures with foreign money. It was used to rehabilitate the Iraqi men and women to become once again a creator and producer as were their ancestors... setting what the west called in the nineties (the army of scientists and engineers) made of tens of thousands of specialists in every discipline of life such as sciences, technology, medicine, military sciences etc.
4 - The Baath has developed a great military army which has completely put upside down the strategic equilibrium in the Arab homeland and its environment in the Arab favor transforming the Iraqi army with only four divisions to be an army with five corps which included one million soldiers enjoying high combat ability which astonished the whole world.
5 - The Baath has established the military industries in order to get rid of the parasitic relying on imported weapons and break the chains imposed by the arms' producing countries upon Arabs. This has led to manufacture a multitude of weapons and military material such as middle range missiles, upgrading war jets and manufacturing The lion of Babylon's tank, and succeeding into making an Iraqi satellite which was about to be put into orbit when the embargo was imposed. What really worried and angered the colonialist and Zionist west most, was Iraqi scientists' success to invent a third way to enrich uranium.
These achievements and many others were grave enough to push the US and other countries to go rapidly with their aggression in 1991 and impose a global embargo to destroy and get rid of them.
6 - In the political arena, the Baath succeeded to put into practice a radical and historical solution for the Kurdish question based on recognizing the Kurdish nationality as a sister Arab nationality written down into the Constitution and setting an autonomous government and developing the national Kurdish culture and the Kurdish individuals in the shade of a united Iraq undertaking a rapid economical-social development in the Kurdish area. However, finding a radical solution for the Kurdish question didn't resolve the Kurdish problem for the Kurdish leadership was behaving according to agendas set by enemies of Iraq and the Arab nation, and in particular the Zionist entity, US and Iran.. Building a powerful and an advanced Iraq was a real challenge to the colonialists' western, Zionist and Iranian projects... This is why there was an interests’ alliance in between the US, the Zionist entity and some European countries from one hand and Iran from the other to prevent the fast building of the new Iraq according to the Baath Strategy. The Kurdish question was the main tool used to bleed and destroy Iraq and keep it a prisoner of big internal problems... leading to the Kurdish rebellion again. Consequently this rebellion lost its nationalist reasons and has become a mule to be ridden at will by every foreign force.
7 - The Baath established the patriotic, national and progresses Front which included the main political parties in Iraq to achieve one of the most important Baath objectives, to establish a government representing all Iraqis... But the mentality to hijack the government for some individuals, the reason behind the fight in amongst the Iraqi patriotic movements, pushed some forces to set a clandestine political party within the armed forces which was against the initial agreement.. The Front then was torn to pieces.
8 - The Baath has allotted a percentage of its resources to back the Arab poor countries, plus sending hundreds of scientific, medical and engineering missions to build roads, bridges, electrical plants, oil refineries and hospitals in countries like Yemen, Sudan, and Mauritania. Iraq also granted huge financial support to many Arab countries such as Egypt, Syria and Jordan... The Palestinian people allotment from the resources of Iraq was with the level proportionate with the Palestine disaster.
To achieve the Arab economical complementarity, the Baath made its uttermost to establish mutual Arab industries distributed all over the Arab countries to manufacture cars and others for example... The Arab Cooperation Council including Egypt, Jordan, Yemen and Iraq was a step to establish a third Arab pole following the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab Maghreb Union... setting the basis for a progressive integration of these three poles into one Arab country spreading from the Ocean to the Arab Gulf through democratic means.
9 -The Baath always asserted that the Palestine question can't be solved through abandoning the rights of the people of Palestine and the recognition of the Zionist entity... but through militancy and combat we should take back the complete rights of the Palestinian people and never submit to the Zionist entity.
10 - The Baath has strengthened the Non-Aligned Movement, thus ascertaining the independence of the Movement' countries to achieve an independent development.
11 - The Baath has granted a huge financial and technical support for poor undeveloped countries.
Our Party while reminding these great achievements and its national and liberation stands, wants to link what has happened to Iraq later on, and in particular after the occupation, and assert that if it were not for these strategic Baathist policies and if it were not for the resolve to continue them, Iraq would have never to be targeted and exposed to colonialist invasion. The two ultimate achievements of the Baath were when setting, organizing, starting and leading the Iraqi Armed Resistance which humiliated and inflicted to the US a resounding defeat, and allowed again the Arabs to play an effective role into peace and war matters. The second achievement was to redraw the picture of the Arab man deformed by the Western Zionist and Iranian propaganda, considering the Arab as a coward, short sighted, under developed by essence, an egoistic, unable to adapt to the modern times... The picture of Saddam Hussein, the martyrs' master, the unbelievable heroism' master, the Resistance' master, without the slightest of any doubt, and the heroism of his comrades martyrs, Taha Yassin Ramadhan, Barzan al Tikriti, and Awad al Bandar al Saadoon, who preferred martyrdom over witnessing against their great leader Saddam Hussein, the two first ones despising the Occupation promise to install them as president of Iraq.. fixed into the world imagination the picture of the hero, intelligent and never compromising Arab over his principles.
The picture of the extraordinary heroic and pure Iraqi patriotically and ethically was completed when the detainees stood the stand of honor and pride, and in particular the militant Ali Hassan Al Madjid and the fighter the Major-General Sultan Hashim, the defense minister, who rejected too to be the president of Iraq if witnessing against his President. For every one knows that corporal liquidation is awaiting them for they refused to betray the homeland and their combatant comrades accepting to die for their principles.
This heroic repeated picture which made no exception of any detainee Baathist making all the Baathist detainees great heroes inspire they pretty well know that death is fatally waiting for them, has radically changed the image of the Arab man in the world and has reconsidered the Arab personality and recognized that the Arab incarnated with the Baathist in Iraq, is an extraordinary heroic person without par since centuries.
The greatness of this Baathist heroism grew even bigger when the world over noticed that the logical truth existing in every people or any community, requests an exception in every rule... for within families and social composition there are bad individuals coming from a good background and there are opportunists in every great Party.. But the Baath has broken this rule too, for not a single detainee Baathist cadre betrayed the Baath... This reality has astonished the world and forced many to reconsider their thought about the Baath and the Baathists.
Ye heroes Baathists! Ye the men and women of yesterday and tomorrow's hope!
Your great Party the Party of extraordinary heroic deeds and great and extraordinary achievements while standing today the stand of pride and honor, while combating the US-Iranian Occupation, and completing the great victories and setting the road to the liberation of Iraq in order to rebuild it and provide security, stability, progress and services for all Iraqis, promise you to go ahead with it Jihadi march and safeguard the complete and utter rights of Iraq, and reject any compromise, and stay resolved to expel the Occupation and build a democratic pluralistic new Iraq with a political alliance system and safeguard the Arab identity of Iraq which will not set aside the rights of the other minorities and safeguard the autonomous rule for our Kurdish people which was one of the greatest achievements of the Baath.
Ye Iraqis resisting and combating modern times' Tartars!
In this occasion we must remind that this great Party, the Party of the greatest achievements, the Party of the unusual extraordinary heroism, was the initiative of two of the greatest of the Arabs during all their glorious history. Indeed! The leader founder Ahmad Michel Aflaq, may he rest in peace, set and developed the foundations of the Baath, as a theory and as a combat. The Baath, thanks to him, developed its combat characteristics specifically setting the creative dialectical link in between the Arab unity and the building of Socialism and established a pan Arab Party organization covering all the Arab countries, attached to a pan Arab leadership to be a small image of the Arab unity... The other giant is the father of all martyrs, the hero, whose heroism has surpassed even the mythological legends, Saddam Hussein... who transformed the Baathist thought from theory into a creative practice, thus giving the Baath' experience in Iraq an honorable example of the Baath principles in the social, economic political and military questions. Iraq which was void of poverty, illiteracy, underdevelopment, become advanced scientifically, technologically, respected internationally, which changed the regional strategic equilibrium in favor of the Arab nation and which got the admiration of the world due to its extraordinary heroism, is Saddam Hussein's Iraq! Built by Saddam Hussein and protected by Saddam Hussein and on behalf of which Saddam Hussein was martyred and for which he sacrificed his life and his position for Iraqi to stay from Nebuchadnezzar to Saddam Hussein as a continuation for rare heroism, self denying and melting into the Lord's word and at the service of the people and the nation.
Congratulations to all the Iraqis for their eternal Baath and its leader the living martyr Saddam Hussein!
Congratulations to the Arab Nation for the Baath and Saddam Hussein who rendered to the Arabs their majesty and their real role.. and congratulations for all the Arab martyrs souls from Omar al Mukhtar to the Palestinian and Iraqi Resistance' martyrs and every martyr for the unity and the liberation of the Arabs, whose heroic values they died for were safeguarded by Saddam Hussein!
Our Party renew its vow and promise to liberate Iraq through the gun as a first step towards the liberation of the Arab Nation and the building of its national unity and expel the US, Zionists and Iranian invaders from its soil.
Eternity and glory to the leader-founder, may he rest in peace, Ahmad Michel Aflaq!
Glory and eternity for the symbol of the human heroism, the builder of the Iraq of pride and progress the Martyr Saddam Hussein!
Long live the heroic Palestinian Resistance!
Long live the Armed Iraqi Resistance (and its strategic supporter and backer the political Resistance) as the sole representative of the people of Iraq!
