A criminal government is the problem
By Carsten Kofoed, Free Iraq Blog of Denmark, January 11, 2006
The smear campaign against the Muslim minority in Denmark apparently never ends. In September, the Danish daily Jyllands-Posten pictured the prophet Mohammed as a terrorist. Since then, the smear campaign has been escalating. Danish Muslims, who have been criticising the government because of its Islamophobic policies, are now being accused of misinformation by the same Prime Minister, who lied to the Danish people in order to get Denmark into the illegal war against Iraq.
The graffiti in Rosenhoej (an immigrant district of Aarhus, the second largest town in Denmark, translator’s note) protesting the latest provocations from Prime Minister Fogh Rasmussen’s black "handbag" (Pia Kjaersgaard, national leader of the xenophobic Danish People’s Party, translator’s note) is being pictured as a crime. But what about the responsibility of the government and Kjaersgaard for the gas attacks, mass torture and the deaths of more than 100,000 civilians in Iraq? At the Nuremberg Trial following the Second World War, Fogh Rasmussen would have been hanged. These are the proportions.
Denmark has a
criminal government, which – while talking about “dialogue” – is constantly
smearing Muslims in Denmark and murdering them in Afghanistan and Iraq. Its
concrete actions – and not “Muslim misinformation” – are the source of the
growing criticism of Denmark, not at least in the Middle East.
