Assassinations committed in Basrah during this
week 7-14/12/2005
1 - A police battalion arrested Dr. Kadhim Mashoot, Prof. at Agriculture College- Basrah University, specialized in soil chemistry. His body was found, two days later, on the highway, disfigured and tortured. Two other colleagues of his were previously assassinated.
2 - Attorney Fadhil Radi Dahash, ex mail director was assassinated on his way to Holy Karbala.
3 - Mr. Farquad Hassan Khraibit, son of the chiekh of Assad Tribe, was assassinated by a group wearing police uniform at a checkpoint on the highway.
4 - An armed group shot Mr.Samir Abu Rgheef mayor of Military Housing district in Basrah.
5 - Mr. Abdul Hussein Jassim al-Gharawi was shot dead by an armed group acting as national guards.
6 - An armed group assassinated Mr. Jamil Lami at Jumhuriah district.
