Al-Fallujah Is The Symbol
By Ali Al- Najafi
Fallujah became a
symbol of the Iraqi National Resistance that reflects the hope and the
determination of the Iraqi people to liberate their country from Anglo American
Zionist occupation. It is a miniature picture of Iraqi anger against the
Imperialist aggressors and their supporters. It is part of the legitimate
resistance that enjoys the support of the vast majority of the Iraqi people
across the land of the Two Rivers.
The National
Resistance had warned all the collaborators and advised them to abandon
cooperating with the forces of occupation or they would be considered as enemies
of the people and would be treated as traitors.
The Iraqi people are
not happy with the police or with the civil defense forces that were created by
the occupying forces. Husam Qahtan, a chieftain of a large Iraqi tribe,
described the feelings of the Iraqi people very well: “Killing Iraqi policemen
who assist the American forces to suppress the resistance is considered a
punishment from heavens because they are betraying their country.” When the
Armed men of the resistance attacked the police station in Fallujah on February
15 the people did not shed a tear for those who were killed. Mr. Qahtan added
“It is permissible to kill those policemen who are aiding the Americans in
arresting the Mujahidin (freedom fighters). His opinion is accepted widely among
the population of this city that became a bulwark for the resistance.
The people of
Fallujah as well as the majority of the Iraqi people consider the Mujahidin as
heroes while the Policemen and collaborators are considered as undesirable or
traitors. Posters hung all over the city of Fallujah and in other cities and
towns condemning the police force and calling upon the honorable members to
quit.
The Western Media is
describing the National Resistance as a Sunni one while in reality is made of
fighters from all walks of life. For instance, the Baath Party is a nationalist
and secular movement that has members from all the strata of the Iraqi society,
from the north, from the center and from the south. Likewise are the other
groups who are part of the Resistance. Operations against the occupation are not
limited to the so-called Sunni Triangle but also in Najaf, in Nasseryiah, in
Basra, in Karbala, in Sulaymania, in Kirkuk and in the other cities, towns and
localities.
The Shia Arabs are
part of the resistance as well. Their cities and towns are occupied by the so-
called coalition forces and by hundreds of thousands of Irani or pro Iran
elements that infiltrated to Iraq through the porous borders. Some came behind
the American tanks, such as the Bader Brigade and others. Those collaborators do
not reflect the feeling of the millions in Iraq whether in the South or in any
other part of Iraq.
The “Democracy”
that the United States is exporting to the Arab World is the essence of
suppression and colonization. We are witnessing it in Iraq.
The repressing
occupying forces, posted a banner on the monument of the Unknown Soldier in
Baghdad saying (mamnooa al-mozaharat) which means, “No demonstrations
allowed”. All demonstrations that take place in Iraq that appear in American
televisions are those controlled and directed by the American forces in front of
the Palestine Hotel where members of the foreign press gather.
All those who are
part of the appointed ruling council do not represent the Iraqi people but
American interests. Washington appointed them by the force of bullets and tanks.
They are living under extreme security measures, the Iraqi people do not respect
them, and they are hated, despised and outcast.
The election that the
Americans and some Iraqi “leaders”
are calling for do not serve Iraq and “Democracy” but colonization and
occupation. Iraq is occupied; election under occupation will legitimize
installing a government that serves the interests of Washington, London and Tel
Aviv. Liberation is the only alternative to occupation.
All efforts must be
directed in support of the Iraqi National Resistance, the legitimate
alternative, in defeating the notorious ambitions of President Bush and his
allies. The Iraqis expect the American and European Anti War Movements to
support the forces of the Iraqi National Resistance.
Al Fallujah is a
prime example for the liberation of Iraq. It is the mirror that reflects the
hope and firmness of the Iraqi people for a free prosperous Iraq.
