By Way Of Deception

President George W. Bush was very successful in deceiving the US Congress and the American people in justifying his war against Iraq. Indeed, he instilled fear in the hearts of the American people by falsely portraying Iraq” a danger to the United States and to the entire World.”  Since no weapons were found this Administration might resort to planting the “evidence” and deceive the American people once more. Are they capable of doing such an immoral act?   If they do, they will be ruined forever and the fabricated accusations might fire back disgracing them in the year 2004.

I have asked few Americans, who were average citizens, about the reason behind the aggression and occupation of Iraq. At the beginning of the invasion, each one was convinced that the reason was weapons of mass destruction and the imminent danger that Iraq might pose to the United States and the world. Some were convinced that Iraq had a link to the tragic events of 9/11. But the events of the war and the failure of finding these weapons of mass destruction convinced the majority of them that the real reason was oil and not democracy or weapons of mass destruction as the President and his cronies had claimed.

Several lawmakers just discovered that the President lured them and now they are calling for investigation.

Senator Robert C. Byrd was the voice of conscience. He stood against the “ preemptive” aggression on Iraq. He was sure that the reason was conquest and oil. In his recent speech he told the President, “The American people have questions that need to be answered about why we went to war with Iraq.  To attempt to deny the relevance of these questions is to trivialize the people's trust.”  “We must not go down the road of cover-up.  That is the road to ruin.”

On March 30, Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld said about the search for weapons of mass destruction: “We know where they are. They are around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south, and north somewhat. Almost three months had passed, weapons of mass destruction were not found.

Was the fabrications of the “imminent Iraq danger and weapons of mass destruction” designed to meet the blind ambition of the US Administration?

Christian Westermann, a top State Department expert on chemical and biological weapons told Congressional committees in closed-door hearing that he had been pressed to tailor his analysis on Iraq and other matters to conform to the Bush administration’s views.

President Bush continues to lie to the American people. He said that the war was over. The American people are not convinced and the events on the ground refuted his claims. Americans are dying, like Iraqis; the Bush Administration victimizes them. The blood of young American soldiers and the Iraqi people became “worth the price” for oil. Renisse Philippe, Gladimir's father, who died in Iraq fighting the Bush war spoke to reporters in Linden, New Jersey.”Every day I returned back from work, I turned on the TV to see the news. But every day people die, people die," Philippe said. "The government says the war is over but the war is not over, that's what I say. People die every day -- almost every day."

Mr. President, you have to realize that lies and deception lead to nowhere but to ruin and destruction. You are destroying Iraq, the cradle of civilization. You are leading the American people into a tragedy. The US economy is in ruins. Unemployment is very high. The war that you are leading might be more painful than the Viet Nam experience. It is time for the American people to replace you with a peaceful man, a man with a big heart full of love for all human beings.
